We build and run the software your business depends on.

Cloud architecture, custom applications and managed IT for companies in Puerto Rico and the United States — from a team that has designed, shipped and operated production systems for more than twenty years.

Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico Working in English and Spanish, with clients across the island and the mainland. Remote-first; on site when it matters.

What we do

Four kinds of work, usually combined. Most engagements start with one of them and grow into the others as the system matures.

  • Cloud architecture & migration AWS and Microsoft Azure

We design cloud environments that are secure by default, cost-aware and built to survive failures — then move your workloads there without downtime your customers notice. Networks, identity, data stores, serverless, containers, backups and disaster recovery, all documented so your team can own it afterwards.

    • Landing zones & account structure
    • Lift-and-shift and re-platforming
    • Database migrations
    • Backup & disaster recovery
    • Cost reviews
    • Infrastructure as code
  • Custom software & web applications Full stack, serverless, integrations

When off-the-shelf software doesn't fit the way you work, we build what does: customer portals, internal tools, registration and payment flows, reporting, and the integrations that connect them to the systems you already use. We work in short iterations and show working software early.

    • Web portals & dashboards
    • APIs & integrations
    • Payments (Stripe)
    • Email & notifications
    • Authentication (Cognito, Entra ID)
    • Reporting
  • IT services & managed operations Keep it running, keep it current

Once something is in production it needs someone watching it. We monitor, patch, back up and tune the systems we build — and many we didn't — and we help teams adopt modern operating practices so changes ship faster with fewer surprises.

    • Monitoring & on-call
    • Patching & upgrades
    • Network design
    • Microsoft 365 & identity
    • Security hardening
    • Hosting
  • Mobile applications iOS and Android

Apps for customers, event attendees or field staff, built on the same backends as your web systems so there is one source of truth. We handle the full path from design to the app stores, including the policies and listings the stores require.

    • Customer-facing apps
    • QR check-in & ticketing
    • Digital wallet passes
    • Push notifications
    • App Store & Google Play publishing

Senior people, small team, no hand-offs.

Cloudonize is a technology consultancy based in Cabo Rojo, on the southwest coast of Puerto Rico. The people you talk to on the first call are the people who design and build your system — and the ones who pick up the phone after it goes live.

We have spent more than twenty years building and operating systems for businesses of every size, and we run our own products on the same cloud stack we recommend to clients. That means our advice is tested in production, not just in slides.

We write things down. Every engagement ends with documentation and a working handover, so you are never dependent on us unless you want to be.

  • 20+ yearsdesigning, shipping and operating production systems
  • English & Spanishmeetings, documentation and support in either language
  • AWS & Azurecloud-agnostic architecture, chosen for your workload and budget
  • Puerto Rico & U.S.remote-first, on site across the island when it matters

How an engagement goes

No long discovery phases and no surprise invoices. Three steps, and you see progress every week.

  1. A conversation

Thirty minutes about what you have, what's not working and what good looks like. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.

  2. A written plan with a price

Scope, approach, timeline and cost, in plain language. Fixed price where the scope is clear; time and materials where it isn't, with a cap.

  3. Working software, early and often

Short iterations, demos you can click on, and documentation that grows with the system. When we're done, your team can run it — or we can.

Questions we get asked

If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

What do we actually gain by moving to the cloud?

Usually three things: you stop buying and maintaining hardware and pay for what you use; you can scale up for busy periods and back down afterwards; and you get backup, disaster recovery and security tooling that would be expensive to build yourself. The honest caveat is that a badly planned migration can cost more than the servers it replaced — which is why we start with an architecture and cost review before moving anything.

How is our data kept secure in the cloud?

Encryption at rest and in transit, least-privilege access with multi-factor authentication, private networking for anything that doesn't need to be public, automated patching, and logging and alerting so unusual activity is noticed. We also keep tested backups in a separate account, so a mistake or a breach in one place can't take everything with it.

AWS or Azure?

Both, and the choice depends on what you already run. Organizations that live in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID often get the most from Azure; teams building serverless products or data-heavy systems often fit AWS better. We'll recommend one and explain why, and we won't move you between them without a reason.

How long does a software project take?

A focused application with standard features typically takes two to four months. Larger systems with integrations and compliance requirements can run six months or more. Either way we ship something usable in the first few weeks and build from there, so you aren't waiting until the end to see results.

How do you make sure what you build works?

Automated tests at the unit and integration level, a staging environment that mirrors production, code review on every change, and acceptance testing with you before anything goes live. After launch we monitor the system and fix issues under a support arrangement rather than disappearing.

Can you take over a system someone else built?

Yes. We start with an assessment — what's there, what's fragile, what it costs — and give you a written picture before changing anything. Many of our managed-operations clients came to us this way.

Do you work with businesses outside Puerto Rico?

Yes. Most work is remote, and we keep U.S. business hours (Atlantic time, which matches U.S. Eastern during daylight saving). We travel on the island when a project calls for it.
